The coronavirus pandemic has created new realities for every aspect of our lives. This webinar will explore how walking and walkable community advocacy have been affected by physical distancing, stay-at-home orders, a slower economy, and racial and economic disparities in the impact of the virus. Presentations will discuss why it’s especially important to stay active right now, how new policies and practices might help you do so safely, and what we can all learn about the future of the national walking movement and social justice issues in the face of this crisis.

Highlighting the current best practices in wayfinding for schools by presenting case studies from four different communities: London, York Region, City of Toronto, and Ville de Gatineau. With examples of lessons learned, participants will gain advice and tools to use when contemplating similar initiatives.

For those who currently take part or would like to take part in organizing Bike Week in their communities. The goal of this webinar is to increase capacity to deliver Bike Week events across Nova Scotia. It features presentations from Ecology Action Centre active transportation coordinators, and municipal staff from Colchester, HRM, Pictou, and Cape Breton.

These workshops will be the first public engagement sessions as part of the Active Transportation Plan Review, and will be the final formal opportunity to comment on the peninsula north-south bicycle corridor. Bring your ideas on where the routes should be, how they should connect with the existing network, and what type of bike routes we should aim to develop.
